i do what i research,
i research what i do, and
i teach what i do and research…
I am an educator, an action researcher and a social entrepreneur with a strong commitment to sustainable social change. My main goal is to contribute to a more inclusive society, in which everyone is given an opportunity to thrive.
My multidisciplinary education and vast experience in making information and culture accessible have made me address the world as text. Translation and mediation serve to mitigate mismatches between people’s abilities and the environments that surround them.
My pragmatic take on life has made me believe that change is possible, as long as different stakeholders work together towards a common goal.
This has led me beyond the academic context, to engage with government bodies, NGOs and companies in the private sector, to implement inclusion and accessibility from A to Z, through consultation, auditing, strategizing & planning, developing and implementing products and training.
I believe accessibility is not about disability. It is a right and an opportunity! It calls for creativity and innovation. It also calls for a profound knowledge of the culture and the people it serves.
When action is anchored in solid scientific foundations, practicality, and respect for all stakeholders, exceptional outcomes are achieved.
